Sideways Terms of Service

Last updated: 20 October 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Sideways. They cover Moving — for Jira and this website.

Acceptance

By installing, accessing, or using Moving — for Jira, or by using this website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use them.

If you accept on behalf of a company or other organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind it. In that case, “you” includes that organization.

Sideways and covered products

Sideways is an independent software vendor. The product currently covered by these terms is Moving — for Jira, an Atlassian Forge app that runs in Jira.

These terms also apply to this website, which publishes Sideways legal documents. If Sideways later offers another product, it will say so, and any additional terms will be presented with that product.

Sideways is not Atlassian. Atlassian is not a party to these terms.

Use of Moving — for Jira

Moving — for Jira reads Jira work data the current user can already access, analyzes active issues and workflow history, and presents that analysis inside Jira. You may use it for your organization’s internal purposes, in line with these terms, your organization’s rules, and the terms that apply to your Jira site and the Atlassian Marketplace.

The analysis is an aid. You are responsible for the decisions you make from it.

Atlassian dependency

Moving runs on Atlassian infrastructure as a Forge app and uses Jira APIs. It works only on a Jira site where it is installed, and only to the extent Jira, Forge, and that site’s configuration allow.

Sideways does not control Atlassian products, the Atlassian Marketplace, or your Jira site. Outages, changes, or limits in those services can affect Moving. Your use of Jira, Forge, and the Marketplace remains governed by Atlassian’s terms.

Authorized use

You may install and use Moving only on a Jira site you are authorized to use for that purpose. You must not:

Jira still enforces the viewing user’s permissions. Moving does not grant access to issues that user cannot already read.

Intellectual property

Sideways and its licensors own Moving, this website, and the related software, text, and design. These terms give you a limited right to use them as described here. They do not transfer ownership.

You and your organization keep all rights in your Jira data. Sideways does not claim ownership of that data.

Atlassian, Jira, and Forge are names of Atlassian products. They are used here to describe compatibility. That use does not imply that Atlassian sponsors or endorses Sideways.

Availability and changes

Sideways may change, suspend, or discontinue Moving or this website, and may add or remove features. Sideways does not promise uninterrupted availability, or that a particular feature will remain.

Fees and Marketplace billing

Where Moving is offered through the Atlassian Marketplace for a fee, Atlassian processes checkout, payment, the taxes shown at checkout, and related billing. Sideways does not directly collect payment-card details for those Marketplace transactions.

The price and billing period are those shown before you purchase. Renewal, cancellation, and refunds for a Marketplace purchase follow Atlassian’s Marketplace billing terms as well as these terms.

If a version of Moving is offered at no charge, Sideways does not charge a separate fee for that version unless a price is shown to you before you agree to pay.

Trials and subscriptions

Where a trial or subscription is available, it is handled through the Atlassian Marketplace. Sideways does not operate a separate billing system for those Marketplace trials or subscriptions. When a trial or subscription ends, continued access follows the Marketplace rules that apply to that purchase.

Disclaimer of warranties

Moving and this website are provided “as is” and “as available”.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Sideways disclaims warranties of every kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Sideways does not warrant that Moving will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that its analysis will be complete or correct for every issue, project, or workflow. Some jurisdictions do not allow particular disclaimers. Where that is the case, the disclaimer applies only as far as the law allows.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Sideways is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunity, arising out of these terms, Moving, or this website. This applies even if Sideways has been told that such damage is possible.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Sideways’ total liability for claims arising out of these terms or Moving will not exceed the fees you paid for Moving through the Atlassian Marketplace during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. If you paid no fees, Sideways’ liability is limited to the fullest extent applicable law allows.

These limits do not apply to liability that applicable law does not allow to be limited or excluded.

Termination

You may stop using Moving by uninstalling it, subject to Atlassian Marketplace rules. You may stop using this website at any time.

Sideways may suspend or stop providing Moving if you materially breach these terms, if the law requires it, or if the product is discontinued.

The rights granted here end when your use ends. Provisions that by their nature should continue — including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and contact — remain in effect.

Changes to these terms

Sideways may update these terms by posting a new version on this page and changing the “Last updated” date. If you keep using Moving or this website after that update, you accept the updated terms. If you do not agree, stop using the product and uninstall it.

These terms do not select a court or a governing law. Mandatory rights under the law that applies to you, including protections that cannot be waived, still apply.
